Men’s Conference
19–20 OCTOBER — The annual Sons of Promise Men’s Conference, at the Rhema West Church on Voortrekker Road, promises to be an event to remember. It is all about instilling hope by igniting men to be the reconcilers of our nation. The conference kicks off at 7pm on Friday evening, 19 October with a vibrant opening ceremony. Registration is R100 per man, with no charge for the women and children accompanying him. Early bird registration is R80. Flea Market
20 OCTOBER — There is a safe and secure flea market every Saturday from 8am to 3pm at Mogale City Town Hall. The entrance is on President Street. For further enquiries, contact Dehlia or Claudette on 011 953 3727.
Kamer van Karton
20 OKTOBER — Danielle Steynvaardt, ‘n bekende plaaslike aktrise wat in TV produksies soos Muvhango, Binnelanders en Getroud met Rugby gespeel het, bied ‘n verhoogproduksie met die naam Kamer van Karton aan by Curro Hoërskool Krugersdorp op Robert Broomrylaan. Sy het hande gevat met Jannes Erasmus, die Naledi en Pansa bekroonde teatermaker om haar storie met Suid-Afrika te deel. 20 OKTOBER — Die Sewendedag Adventiste Kerk Sentraal, Clewstraat 15, Kenmare, bied ‘n besoekersdag op hul Sabbatdag vanaf 9.15vm aan. Na die diens word daar ‘n middagete aangebied en dr Manie de Wilde, ‘n ortopediese chirurg, gaan ‘n interressante praatjie lei oor artritis. Jane Griffiths talk
21 OCTOBER — Gardening author Jane Griffiths will be at Leafy Greens Café, a vegan restaurant set in a edible garden farm in Muldersdrift, for a Garden Day- inspired brunch buffet. Jane will give a talk on growing and using herbs and have copies of her books and recently launched natural skincare products available for sale. Cost inclusive of the lunch and talk. Avon iThemba Walkathon
21 OCTOBER — Beauty company, Avon Justine will host its 13th annual iThemba Walkathon breast cancer awareness event at Marks Park in Johannesburg. Registrations are still open on www.ithembawalkathon.co.za. All participants are required to pre-register on the website or through the iThemba Walkathon Facebook page at just R145 per adult and R100 per child. Registrations can also be made on printed entry forms obtainable from participating Sportsman’s Warehouse stores.
