[WATCH] Who you gonna call …
The community need not be afraid when they see flashing lights and sirens over the coming weeks.
During the past few weeks, the community has taken to Facebook on two occasions to find out what the commotion in town is about.
On 5 October, lights and sirens from numerous vehicles could be seen and heard throughout Krugersdorp. There were ambulances, security companies, fire trucks and Community Policing Forum (CPF) members, to name but a few.
Krugersdorp CPF’s Sector 4 and Sector 3 collaborated to co-ordinate a visibility drive in their sectors.

They were joined by Disaster Management, the Randburg and Muldersdrift CPFs, Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch, the fire department, Intellidrive, the Krugersdorp Police, Netcare 911, community safety officials, and the EPR and APCAN security companies.
The group of 68 vehicles met at the Nandos at Key West Shopping Centre and divided into three groups.
One of the groups provided static patrol, and stood at the entrances and exits of each sector and all the major roads. The other two groups travelled in a convoy through the sectors.
“We want everyone to see us, they must know that we are there if they need us,” said Sharday van den Berg, operations coordinator for Sector 4.
“After the success of the first night, we wanted to co-ordinate this event in the other sectors as well.”
On Saturday, 20 October there was another visibility event, this time in Sectors 1 and 5.
The Krugersdorp Sector 4 CPF will also be doing their Christmas visibility drive this year on 8 December. They will drive through the streets of Wentworth Park, Monument and Noordheuwel and hand out sweet treats to the community members on their way.
This year, however, they have a new initiative. Community members can buy a present for their child, wrap it and write their address on the present and then Santa Claus will come and deliver it to the address.
If you want to send a present or help with the visibility drive, you can phone Sharday on 064 169 7922.
