On Sunday, 11 November, a minor aged 16, and a young adult aged 18, were arrested in Block 1 in Tshepisong.
An ongoing joint effort from the police and community to help eliminate and fight crime in the area lead to the arrest.
A woman was allegedly asleep in her house when she was woken at about 2.30am by the voices of two men in her shack. She said that the one was armed with a firearm while the other was carrying a knife.
The suspects fled the scene on foot after stealing two cellphones and the woman’s handbag which contained an unspecified amount of cash and her ID document.

The 16-year-old suspect was transferred to a youth rehabilitation facility in Soweto after the arrest, and the 18-year-old was detained at the Kagiso Police Station.
