It is alleged that community members took matters into their own hands after a man was murdered.
According to reports, a 35-year-old man was at a tavern in Rietfontein at ahout 8pm on Friday, 16 November, when he became involved in a fight with two other men.
One of the men held him down while the other man stabbed him to death.

The community members chased the two attackers and managed to catch one of them. The 22-year-old suspect was assaulted by the crowd and later arrested. He is currently in the hospital under police guard.
It is believed that community members then gathered information about the second suspect and tracked him down. According to reports he was assaulted by a mob of people before being set on fire. He was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The Muldersdrift station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mankontsho Setlhare, is asking the community to please not take the law into their own hands.
Both these matters are being investigated, according to Constable Slindile Ntuli, spokesperson for the Muldersdrift police.
