Tarlton road users must be careful

A local resident wants to warn others as his window was broken by a taxi passing them in Tarlton.

A resident of Krugersdorp wants to warn other road users to be vigilant when driving in the Tarlton area.

Wayne Softly, who has his own business in Roodepoort, said that he and his wife were driving in Tarlton last Wednesday evening after 5pm. They were on their way to deliver parts to a client in the area.

He said that as they passed a petrol station they saw a taxi coming from the front in the wrong lane. The taxi went back into the right lane and as it passed their car they heard a loud crash.

He believes that someone in the taxi threw something out of the window. The object hit the back window of his car and shattered it.

His son was sitting in the back seat but luckily was unhurt.

He tried to chase the taxi but was unsuccessful. He added that they did not find the object that hit the car.

According to Constable Lucky Matome, spokesperson for the Tarlton Police, they are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.
