Three men emerged with firearms and one of them fired a shot. They forced the couple into their house.

Once inside the rest of the family was woken up and ordered to move into the lounge.

The robbers took electronic appliances and fled the scene on foot.

The Criminal Intervention Squad, Iron Fist Squad and police’s Trio Task Team located two of the suspects in Rietfontein during the early hours of Friday, 28 December.

They found four alarm radio transmitters and a drop safe in the criminals’ possession.

“The two suspects have been formally charged and will remain behind bars as bail will be opposed,” said Ntuli.
