Boyfriend mad about New Year’s Day visit – assaults girlfriend

A woman was assaulted in Tarlton after spending the day with her friend.

Tarlton Police arrested a 33-year-old-man on Tuesday, 8 January, for assaulting his girlfriend.

According to the woman, she visited her friend on 1 January to spend New Year’s Day with her.

She decided to sleep over that night and when she returned home the next morning her live-in boyfriend assaulted and injured her.

The man will appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.

“The Tarlton Police station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tsoaedi condemns any crime perpetrated against women and children and further pleads with victims to report such crimes,” said Constable Lucky Matome, Tarlton Police spokesperson.

“Victims withdrawing such cases do not help to fight crimes against women and children,” said Colonel Tsoaedi.
