Police nab woman for fraud at bank in President Square

After speculation on what happened at President Square yesterday it seems that everything is okay.

According to a post on Facebook yesterday afternoon, 10 January, there was a commotion at President Square.

Eyewitnesses saw police and security officers busy at the shopping centre and people speculated that there had been a robbery at the Capitec Bank branch in President Square.

The management of the centre immediately responded to the rumours and President Hyper CEO, Basil Synodinos, said in a statement that no robbery had taken place and that it was about a woman attempting to commit credit card fraud.

The woman was allegedly apprehended by the Krugersdorp Police.

He ended the statement by saying that the centre was safe to visit and wishing everyone the best for 2019.

One Facebook user commended the management and CEO on their swift response to the situation.
