Driver nabbed for truck filled with narcotics

A truck driver from North West was arrested after police found suspicious substances in the vehicle.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on the R24 next to the Krugersdorp Game Reserve by the West Rand K9 Unit after being found in possession of substances suspected to be drugs.

According to a police report, the West Rand K9 Unit was busy with routine patrols around Krugersdorp on Thursday, 17 January, at 4pm. While out on patrol they received information about a truck carrying narcotics, coming from the North West province.

They spotted a truck matching the description they received, next to the Game Reserve.

When they stopped and searched the vehicle, they found substances suspected to be drugs.

The truck driver was arrested and detained at the Krugersdorp police cells. He is expected to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
