Guards busted for theft

A local business owner never suspected that his own guards would steal from him, but an internal investigation changed his mind.

After entrusting the safety of his property to the guards in his employ, the owner of a local company was shocked to find out that his employees were behind a theft at his premises.

On 21 January, the Kagiso Police arrested three security guards for theft.

The owner said he left the company at 4pm on 19 January and made sure all doors and windows were properly closed and locked.

When he returned he found that some of his products had been stolen. He launched an internal investigation and the three guards were the main suspects.

The owner decided to inform the Kagiso Police who followed up on the case. After more investigations the three suspects aged between 45 and 47 were arrested.

The three guards have been charged with theft and will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court son.
