No answer about where stolen car came from

The Kagiso Police arrested three suspects after they could not explain who the car in their possession belonged to.

“The theft of motor vehicles is a serious challenge in the West Rand area. The Kagiso Police have committed themselves to confronting this situation in a quest to take control of the situation. Members of the community have promised to assist us by providing helpful information that will put a stop to the theft of motor vehicles,” said Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso Police.

On Monday, 28 January, three suspects, two men and a woman, were arrested in central Kagiso for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The sector police members received a tip-off about a suspected stolen vehicle parked in Kagiso.

When they arrived at the address, they found a white Nissan Sentra parked in the yard, and questioned the three people on the premises.

They could not provide adequate answers to the questions asked, so the police enquired about the vehicle and found that it was in fact reported stolen in Roodepoort a few weeks ago.

The suspects, aged between 31 and 34, were arrested and detained at the Kagiso Police Station, on charges of being in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
