Mother helps police find her son after murder

A Kagiso mother helped the police to find her son after two men were stabbed and one died on scene.

A 22-year-old Kagiso man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after he allegedly stabbed two people, one of whom died on the scene.

On 1 February at 6.40pm, members of the Kagiso Crime Prevention Unit were patrolling Rietvallei when they noticed a group of residents gathered in a street.

Upon investigation, they were surprised to find two bloodied men lying in the street.

An ambulance was immediately called, but unfortunately one of the men was pronounced dead shortly after the paramedics arrived. He had been stabbed in his upper body.

The second man had also been stabbed in the upper body and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The motive for the stabbing is still unknown.

The suspect’s mother assisted the police to find him by taking them through to Westonaria, where he was hiding.

He has been charged with murder and has already appeared in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
