Mother and son arrested for assaulting a man

A Kagiso mother and her son were recently arrested after they were identified as the ones who beat up a man and then just left him there.

Criminal activity is bad enough, but even worse when you make it a family affair.

A 58-year-old Kagiso mother, her 24-year-old son and one of his friends were arrested on 2 February in Extension 12, following a vicious assault.

A man claims he was at his home at 10.30am when the three showed up. He claims that without uttering one word, they attacked him. They hit him all over his body with their fists and even kicked him.

Some time during the attack, the 24-year-old left and later came back, wielding a firearm which he pointed at the victim while threatening his life.

The three eventually left the man bloodied and in pain. He picked himself up off the floor and went to hospital. Luckily he wasn’t wounded too badly, but was left with bruises on his face and body.

The matter was reported to the Kagiso Police and after some investigation the three were apprehended at their home.

A case of assault and pointing a firearm has been opened.
