Tarlton man arrested for raping child

The Tarlton Police have arrested a man in connection with the rape of a young girl during the weekend.

On Sunday, 3 March, the Tarlton Police arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly raped an 11-year-old girl at about 10pm on Saturday night.

The man allegedly held a knife to the girl’s neck before he raped her.

“An investigation is underway, so no more information pertaining to this matter can be revealed or communicated at this stage,” said Constable Lucky Matome, spokesperson for the Tarlton Police.

The acting station commander in Tarlton, Captain AL Nelutomboni, said that no crime against women and children will be tolerated.

The man is expected to appear in court soon.
