The Mogale City Local Municipality recently handed over 50 houses to Kagiso residents.
“I’m happy to be here today to witness people receiving their long-awaited homes. Identifying child-headed families and individuals who have been on the housing list was a lengthy process for both local and provincial government,” MEC Dikgang Moiloa said.

He also discouraged the beneficiaries from selling or renting out these homes, which unfortunately often occurs once beneficiaries received their title deeds.
A pensioner, Ms Ndlovua could not hold back her joy when Mayor Naga Patrick Lipudi and Moiloa handed her the keys to her new house.
“I have been waiting for this house for so many years. At least I have a place called home and my kids will now have a roof over their heads,” she said.
Lipudi said more than 100 houses will be built in the near future, and title deeds will be handed over as soon as both provincial and local governments have identified the beneficiaries.
Lipudi and Moiloa also attended the launch of a new housing development in Munsieville near the Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital, where 500 houses are expected to be built. It should be completed within nine months.
