Some senior fun at fashion parade
Residents of various homes for the elderly across Krugersdorp gathered for a fun day of fashion and being silly, with some dressing up in some of the craziest and others in the most beautiful outfits they could come up with.
The Krugersdorp Council for the Care of the Aged (KCCA) brought together the Môreglans, Luipaardsvlei, Moria and Emmanuel homes for one of its yearly events where the elderly are treated with a show, some good food and interesting conversation.
Last year the KCCA hosted a concert, but tries to change things up every year or so.

The fashion parade had three categories – arty, formal and sporty or amusing. The seniors went all out, throwing together some fancy and sometimes crazy garments to create some of the most interesting outfits one could imagine.
Dana Albertyn wowed everyone with her bright-red gown, looking like she just walked off the set of a 1940s Mafia-noir film. Bubbles Teiwes went in a complete opposite direction, going with a pink outfit with matching hair and a colourful Flamenco-dancer styled dress-trail.

Richard Lihman let out his inner clown, with a bit of face makeup and a weird get-up. He added a South African twist by complementing his outfit with a farmer’s hat with a electric cord on top, a grass broom in one hand and a paint scraper and brush around his neck.
Many more added their own special flavour to their outfits, and all of them had a great laugh as each strutted down the walkway, striking a pose, pulling a funny face and showing off their unique flair.
