Three people seriously injured in crash near Orient Hills
Three people were injured when a bakkie rolled near the Orient Hills informal settlement in Magaliesburg during the weekend.
A 45-year-old man had to be airlifted to hospital after a serious accident in Magalies this weekend.
According to a statement from Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer for Netcare 911, their paramedics responded to reports of a collision on the R24 heading towards Rustenburg, near the Orient Hills informal settlement in Magaliesburg. “Reports from the scene indicated the driver of a light delivery vehicle lost control, resulting in a rollover,” the statement read.

When the vehicle rolled, the 45-year-old man was thrown out, and sustained serious injuries. A second man, aged 30, and a 28-year-old woman sustained minor to moderate injuries.
“Due to the nature of the 45-year-old man’s injuries, the Netcare 1 Specialised Helicopter Air Ambulance was called to airlift him to hospital,” Herbst explained.
The other two patients were treated and stabilised on scene, and later transported to hospital for further treatment.
