Toys and sweets for the orphans of House Jade
You might not realise just how children's faces can light up when they receive something as small as a packet of sweets.
House Jade is doing some very important work in the community. Some would say this might be the most important work any of us could do, as the centre houses multiple orphans who really have nowhere else to go. Here the children are given a place to sleep, enough to eat and a lot of love. Who knows what would’ve become of these little ones if it were not for houses like this, and the people running them.
However, House Jade often struggles to bring in enough funds and other donations to do that little bit extra that makes every child’s life just a bit more happy and worthwhile. It is not that these children are not happily playing outside or round the house most of the day, but you might not realise just how children’s faces can light up when they receive something as small as a packet of sweets.
With this in mind, the non-profit organisation, Outreach Hand South Africa, has combined its resources and gathered quite a lot of food, sweets and toys for the children of House Jade. These gifts were handed over to the centre on Saturday, 4 May, by Cathy Sinden and Christine Scheepers, and house mom Belinda Kotze received them with joy-filled eyes.
Both of these organisations are doing wonderful work, but they do need help from the public to improve people and children’s lives as much as possible.
