Car crashes down an embankment

Netcare 911 paramedics were called to the scene of an accident late on Saturday night.

The Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of an accident on the R28 Paardekraal Drive towards Muldersdrift late on Saturday evening, 7 September.

According to reports a car and a bakkie were involved in a collision to which paramedics responded at about 22.35pm. They found that the car had come to rest down an embankment.

“Medics assessed the scene and found that two people from the bakkie had sustained serious injuries and required advanced life support interventions to stabilise them,” said a statement from Netcare 911’s media liaison officer, Shawn Herbst.

An adult man, who was also travelling in the bakkie, had sustained moderate injuries.

The Jaws of Life had to be used to cut the occupants from of the vehicles. Once all the victims had been stabilised, they were all transported to hospital by ambulance.
