Orient Hills accident claims one life on Sunday night
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on the scene of a massive accident on Sunday night. One man lost his life and many others were injured.
An accident in Orient Hills near Magaliesburg has claimed a life and left seven persons injured.
According to a report from Netcare 911’s media liaison officer, Shawn Herbst, their paramedics responded to an accident on the R24, Rustenburg Road near the R400, Orient Hills at 9.51pm last night, 8 September.
“Reports from the scene indicate that two light delivery vehicles were involved in a partial head-on collision,” said Herbst.

Medics who assessed the patients on scene found that five men and two women sustained moderate to serious injuries.
They also found the body of a sixth man, whom they believe was one of the passengers. He had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on scene.
“Due to the nature of two of the patients’ injuries the Netcare 1 Specialised Helicopter Air Ambulance was activated to airlift an adult male and adult female to a specialist facility,” explained Herbst.
Once everyone on scene was treated and stabilised, the rest of the patients were transported to hospital by ambulance, where they were to receive further treatment.
