Hey kids! Enter the AACL poster draw competition today!

It’s not all about a pretty picture, but a picture with a message!

All Gauteng primary school learners are invited to show their support for animal welfare by entering the Animal Anti-Cruelty League’s (AACL) Annual School Poster Competition for 2019.

The countdown has begun to the closing date on 31 October, so get started today and enter your picture as soon as possible!

It is easy and fun to enter:

Draw/ paint a picture showing ways in which people are compassionate and kind towards animals, care for them, and touch their lives in helpful ways. Remember it’s not all about a pretty picture, but a picture with a message! A slogan or title may also help in making your message clear. A good poster grabs the attention!

You are welcome to use any medium for example paint/ pastel/ ink/ crayon and so forth on either A2 or A3 paper. Be creative, keep your picture bold, striking and original and have fun!

Please note: No digital entries will be accepted.

Enter in one of these categories and stand a chance of winning:

• Category 1: Grade 1, 2: First prize R2 000

• Category 2: Grade 3,4, 5: First prize R2 000

• Category 3: Grade 6,7: First prize R2 000

• School prize: A Canon Laser Multi-functional printer valued at R11 000

Each category also has stacks of merit prizes from Animaltalk Magazine, Canon, Gold Reef City Theme Park, Cartoon Candy, Dean’s Stationers, Cat Box Pet Hyper, Artjamming, PVM Nutritional Sciences and Roll-Egoli Roller Rink

Don’t forget to clearly print on the back of your picture:

• Your name and surname

• Your age, grade and entry category (1/2/3)

• Your school’s name and email address/ telephone number

• Your parents’ telephone number

Then send or deliver your picture to:

Pictures will be adjudicated on merit by a panel of selected adjudicators. The finalists and winners will be announced by 30 November on the AACL Johannesburg Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AACLJHB) where their posters will be exhibited.
