[PHOTOS] Colour fun at Monument Primary

The last day of school was all fun for the Monument Primary learners when they had their annual colour run.

While the rest of the country’s learners were counting the minutes before the school closed for a short break, those at Monument Primary were gearing up for fun.

The school’s sport field was crowded with learners, their parents, other adults and children dressed in white T-shirts – that was before they were covered by clouds of colour.

It was the school’s annual fun colour run on Friday, 20 September, and everyone was invited. More than 1 000 tickets were sold for this event that is not only a fundraiser for the school, but also the perfect way for the learners to end their semester.

Each group had to run through a course and at certain checkpoints they were showered with powder of different colours. By the third time they passed the start there were no signs of white left on their T-shirts and a rainbow made up of children were running and laughing.

Even the teachers were covered from head to toe in greens, blues, purples and pinks.

It definitely was the right way to start your holiday.
