Useful Christmas shopping tips
Christmas shopping is rarely a fun experience. Here are some tips to help you survive this year.
Christmas shopping can at times feel overwhelming.
Over-crowded shopping malls, higher prices and long queues are just some of the things that can contribute to your Christmas shopping anxiety.
Here are a few things that you can keep in mind when doing Christmas shopping. This might take off some of the pressure during the holiday season:
1. Dress comfortably – You might have to stand in long queues and walk a lot. This will all be easier in comfortable clothes.
2. Decide what to buy – If you are shopping for the whole family, decide what you are going to buy each of them before you go.
3. Make a list – Make sure you write down everything you want to buy and will need. This way you can plan your route through the shopping centre and won’t have to return to the same shop twice.
4. Price check before you go – There may be some items that you can price check online before taking on the shops. This will give you the best value for money and may save you time in shopping around.
5. Set a budget for yourself – Make sure you set a budget for yourself and stick to it.
6. Shop early – You can try to get most of your Christmas shopping done in the weeks leading up to the holidays. If you see something during the year, buy it and save it for Christmas.
7. Right time – Try to go when the shops are quieter. Early mornings or late evenings are good. Most shops have extended shopping hours at Christmas time.
8. Online shopping – To skip the pressure and the rush altogether, try buying most, if not all, of your presents online.
