Woman airlifted after Hekpoort bike accident

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a call about a serious accident from Oostermoed Security at 10:11 am on Sunday, 5 January.

The accident occurred on the R560 in Die Moot, and according to Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst statement, reports from the scene indicated that a motorcycle and a car had collided.

“An adult female passenger from the bike had sustained serious injuries and the adult male rider had sustained moderate injuries,” the statement said.

The driver of the car was not injured and the other patients were treated on scene, however because of the nature of the woman’s injuries she had to be airlifted with the Netcare 911 Helicopter to a specialist facility.
