Mogale City has released a statement this morning, Tuesday, 21 July, saying that its Licensing Department has once again closed due to one of their employees testing positive for Covid-19.
“The facility will be disinfected to combat the spread of Covid-19, and all contacts will be traced and managed according to the Department of Health Covid-19 guidelines and protocols,” read the statement.

The department will open and resume its operations on Thursday, 23 July.
However, those whose licences have expired or are due to expire soon have been given some assurance in the statement, as it said that due to the closure of licensing centres across the country, the National Department of Transport has announced that all expired vehicle licences and driver’s licence cards, and learner’s licences will be valid for an additional 90 days from 1 June.
But note, this only applies if the licence in question expired during Level 5 or Level 4 lockdown.
“In the interim the public is advised to use other operating licensing centres.
Those whose learner and driving licence tests, licence renewals and professional driving permits have been impacted by the closure will be contacted to arrange alternative dates.”
