Operation Basadi held around the Krugersdorp Policing precinct on Wednesday, 19 August led to numerous arrests, the discovery of a stolen truck at a house, as well as a stolen motor vehicle inside a workshop.
According to Captain Raymond Sebonyane, Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, the main focus of the operation was on business and house robberies, motor vehicle thefts, domestic violence-related crimes, second-hand dealers, scrap yards, monitoring adherence to municipal by-laws, visiting schools, and monitoring compliance with the Disaster Management Act 57 of 2002 Level 2 regulations.
Captain Sebonyane said during the operation, a 42-year-old man was arrested at a house for being in possession of a stolen a horse truck with a Belfast case number.
A stolen motor vehicle was also recovered in one of the workshops in Krugersdorp West.”
Other arrests include for possession of drugs, possession of dagga, possession of suspected stolen property, common assault and illegal immigrants.
Colonel Rebecca Masango, the acting Krugersdorp Police station commander congratulated police members for achieving great success and for their dedication.
