Krugersdorp train depot shooting: Three security officers ‘serious to critical’

'One man was airlifted to a nearby hospital by a private medical helicopter while the other two were transported by ambulance' – ER24.

Three security officers were seriously injured in a shooting that occurred at a train depot in Krugersdorp on Wednesday night, 26 August.

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, all three sustained gunshot wounds and were in a serious to critical condition.

“ER24 paramedics along with other services arrived on the scene to find one security officer inside an office at the depot while two others were found outside the office,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.

“Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Once stable, one man was airlifted to a nearby hospital by a private medical helicopter while the other two were transported by ambulance.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
