WATCH: Late night scuffle in Noordheuwel parking lot

The News has been sent a video showing a late-night scuffle in a parking lot during which a man was allegedly stabbed.

Police are investigating an alleged stabbing in the parking area of a local shopping centre. The incident reportedly happened on Thursday night, 20 August.

According to Colonel Madikwena Magdeleen Maboe from the Krugersdorp Police, two men have opened cases of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against each other.

“The case dockets have been returned from the senior public prosecutor and he has given further instructions. The dockets will then be returned to court after all queries from the prosecutor have been dealt with.”

A video depicts the incident from afar, but it does not identify anyone involved.

Watch here:

It shows a man dressed in jeans and a light-coloured shirt standing in the parking area of the shopping centre. A white car pulls up and he moves behind it.

Another person, wearing a white shirt, comes running out of an establishment in the centre and a scuffle ensues. The man in the white shirt pushes the other one to the ground. The vehicle then circles the man in the white shirt. The vehicle seems to be driving in his direction, but he manages to dodge it.

The driver seems to back off. Meanwhile, other patrons from the establishments gather at the scene. The man in the light-coloured shirt tries to get into the white car. It seems as if they want to pull him out of it, but they do not succeed.

As the driver pulls away, the group of people surrounding the car seem to hurl objects at it as it speeds off.
