Pitch-black smoke in Mindalore caused by small veld fire

The origin was a fairly small veld fire deep into the illegal dumping site in the area far from the residential areas of Mindalore.

Residents in and around Mindalore, and those driving on Chamdor Road might have noticed today, Friday, 9 October between 11am and 1pm thick, pitch-black smoke wafting into the air.

The origin was a fairly small veld fire deep into the illegal dumping site in the area far from the residential areas of Mindalore, past the heaps of discarded garbage that stretch as far as the eye can see, in between a dug-out which presumably functioned as a work area for the infamous zama zamas before they made their way deeper into the wooded area.

While News journalist Jaco Human was on scene, no members of the public, illegal dumpers or authority was present.
