C’est magnifique! KHS soccer star Sibiya heads to Lille

A former Krugersdorp High School (KHS) learner will soon run out for a French soccer club.

Former Krugersdorp High School (KHS) learner Thato Sibiya has reached a new milestone in his soccer career after it was confirmed that he will join French soccer club Lille on loan.

The 20-year-old became a first-team player at Mamelodi Sundowns last year, making four appearances for the team during its CAF Champions League-winning campaign, which saw Sundowns beat AS FAR of Morocco.

Upon signing his contract, Sibiya expressed his excitement about joining the club and his determination to represent Lille.

“I am very grateful to have had this opportunity to join LOSC Lille. I am proud and happy to sign for this great club, and very excited and eager to start working. I am a dynamic and fast defender. I am determined to develop here and integrate as quickly as possible, starting by adapting to French life and its football.”
