Inauguration of future learner leaders goes smoothly

New head boy and girl promise to make the coming year the best the school has ever seen.

As one group prepares for life outside of high school, another is thrust into a position of great responsibility.

The 2021 Learner Leadership members of Curro Krugersdorp High School have big shoes to fill as they take over the wheel to the school’s direction from this year’s Grade 12 group.

The newly elected leaders, preparing for matric next year, were officially set to task during an inaugural ceremony in a morning hall assembly on Monday, 12 October.

Khaya Blaai and Aliyah Limbada will stand as head boy and girl, with Daegan Bateman and Tegan Malherbe supporting them as deputy head boy and girl.

Khaya and Aliyah received their white Learner Leadership head boy and girl jackets earlier, and during the inauguration promised to make the coming year the best the school has ever seen.

All sworn in, the entire leader group recited the school’s ethics oath, promising to “… do all I can to enhance the good name of Curro; use my authority to serve the members of the community; exercise my authority in order to assist with the sound management of school routines and structures; endorse, through my behaviour and example, the mission of Curro; and to strive for excellence and integrity within my portfolio as a leader”.
