MOTH residents spoiled after long isolation

The residents of the MOTH retirement cottages recently were treated to tea and cake.

After months of being cooped up due to lockdown the residents of the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (MOTH) retirement cottages got out and were spoiled.

Shennan Cochrane, a member of the community who regularly donates food and meals to the residents of the MOTH cottages wanted to spoil them.

On Friday, 9 October, she brought platters of tea sandwiches, scones and other delicious treats and set up a few tables outside in the fresh air.

After filling their tummies and having a cup of warm tea there were several rounds of bingo and the residents stood the chance of winning one of three big prizes.

Jenny Nolen won the first round of BIngo.

Coincidentally one of the residents, Robby Poee, also celebrated his 80th birthday. Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor Zillah Maguire and DA chief Whip Tyrone Grey were also in attendance.
