Three injured, one critical after car crashes into tree in Monument

Three men were involved in an accident over the weekend. One of them was injured critically.

Three people were injured, one of them critically when a vehicle crashed into a tree in Monument on Saturday night, 17 October.

In a statement from ER24 Multimedia Producer, Ross Campbell, he said that a man in his 20s suffered critical injuries while two other men suffered minor injuries after the driver had lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree on the corner of Voortrekker Road and Sarel Cilliers Street.

ER24 paramedics received the call at 8.58pm and arrived to find the critically injured patient entrapped in the vehicle wreckage,” Campbell said.

While paramedics treated the man with Advanced Life Support interventions, the Krugersdorp Fire Department was on scene to extricate him.

“He was transported to a private hospital for further care.”

The other two men had suffered only minor injuries and had declined transportation to hospital.

“The South African Police Services were also on scene for further investigations,” Campbell added.
