Vigilant police recently caught and arrested a suspected drug dealer.
In a statement sent by Kagiso Police’s Captain Solomon Sibiya he said police were patrolling at Tshepisong on Monday, 19 October at about 11am when they received information about a suspected drug dealer.
“The information was followed up and the address traced. On arrival at the given address, the police found the suspect with a small parcel in his hand. When they inspected the parcel, they discovered that it was drugs wrapped in a tissue and plastic,” Sibiya said.
The man was arrested and taken to the Kagiso Police Station where a docket for dealing in narcotics was opened, and the suspect was formally charged.
“Drugs are dangerous – not only to users but to everyone. Property-related crimes are escalating because drug addicts want to feed their habits. We want to thank members of the community for their commitment to working with the police,” said Brigadier Themba Maduna of the Kagiso Police.
