Vote for Neo to be the next Miss Empress SA
Neo was recently announced as one of the semi-finalists for Miss Empress South Africa.
Neo Monamodi wants to be a role model for other young girls and change the idea about what modelling is supposed to be.
Neo was recently announced as one of the semi-finalists for Miss Empress South Africa.
The 24-year old started her career as an actress at 14 years old when she starred in an Ultramel commercial. She took a break and after school shifted her focus to modelling when she realised how difficult it was to get cast in acting roles.

She was named Miss Boston University in 2016 and said she wanted to enter Miss South Africa but explained that their rules are very strict. She came upon the Miss Empress competition on Facebook one day and the pageant appealed to her.
“They do not discriminate; it is a come one, come all pageant who focuses more on brains than beauty. I am a black girl, I’m tall, I’ve got hips, I’ve got thighs,” she said.
Neo used to be told in the past that she was not right for pageants or casting roles. She is 1,75m tall and is medium built, and believes there should be a place for all body types in the industry – not just for skinny girls or plus-sized girls, but for the medium-sized girls as well.
“We are missing the beauty of art in fashion; let’s get medium-sized girls on the runway, on billboards and in magazines.”
Her message to young girls out there is to be bold, confident and go for it, whoever you are.
Neo’s role model is the current Miss Empress South Africa, her supreme majesty Annikie Rabohale.
“She used her life challenges to inspire and I can resonate with that, as I have also faced adversity.”
To get to the finals, Neo needs to get votes. If you would like to vote for her, SMS NEO M to 35334.
