Group of friends attacked: One killed, another critical

A group of friends were attacked and stabbed in Tshepisong. One person died as a result.

When police were called out to a crime scene on 26 October they found that a 26-year-old man had been murdered while his friend who was also attacked, was in a critical condition.

Captain Solomon Sibiya, the Kagiso Police spokesperson, explained they had arrested a 19-year-old man from Tshepisong for the murder two days later.

He explained that sector police received the call of a stabbing and murder in Tshepisong at about 3.30am.

“At the scene of the crime they found a group of people gathered on the street. Residents were looking at the bleeding body of a man lying on the street,” he said.

The man had been stabbed in his upper body and paramedics declared him dead on scene. His friend had also been stabbed and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. The suspect had been in hiding until police received a tip-off about his whereabouts.”

The Kagiso Police have opened a case of murder and the suspect has also been formally charged.

Brigadier Themba Maduna, the Kagiso Police station commander said, “You can run but you cannot hide from the long arm of the law. You cannot commit crime and expect to live a normal life as if there is no law.”
