Young girl airlifted after equestrian accident

Netcare 911 responders were called out on Friday at 5pm to an equestrian incident on an unnamed road in Muldersdrift, according to Netcare 911 Media Liaison Officer Shawn Herbst.

“Reports from the scene indicated that a minor female had fallen off a horse,” Shawn explained.

“When medics arrived on scene they found the patient had sustained serious injuries and required advanced life support intervention to stabilise her.”

Because of the remote location and the seriousness of the young girl’s injuries, a Netcare helicopter was brought in to airlift her to the nearest specialist facility.
