The Krugersdorp News is now yum-yum

Something extra came with the 20 November edition of the Krugersdorp News when readers received samples of Yum-Yum's new chocolate spread.

Krugersdorp News readers received an extra special treat with the 20 November edition of the News.

On Wednesday, 17 November when the latest edition hit the streets, samples of Yum-Yum’s Chocolate Dreams chocolate spread were distributed with the newspaper. This was the first time this initiative has been rolled out to Krugersdorp News readers, and 17 000 of these samples were handed out to the community.

Phillip Opperman, Caxton Joburg West Distribution manager with January Makhubela, a Caxton truck driver.

The campaign has already been running with a few other Caxton newspapers and has proven to be successful. The idea behind distributing these samples is that consumers get the opportunity to try the product and if they like it, they can go out and buy it.

Ayabanga Mbele also got his taste of the Yum-Yum chocolate spread.

The brand wanted to give consumers a chance to ‘taste and try’ before they buy this new yummy spread!” said Dejané Poil, Head of Retail Marketing & Innovation at Caxton Local Media.

She added that this is the ideal way for brands to engage with their consumers, and the next time the readers do their shopping they will have this brand on their minds.

“Our media carries the product right into the homes and kitchens of our readers.”
