With a little more freedom in Level 1 of lockdown, residents will be eager to hit the clubs, venues and streets again.

• Free Fab Fit Classes in Roodepoort – Get fitter, get stronger, get healthier and rediscover your confidence with the FAB FIT Mornings at Clearwater Mall in Strubens Valley, Roodepoort. Grab a group of your besties, and join them in Clearwater Mall’s gorgeous open-air Piazza (by the Food Court) to spend the morning having a blast making your body stronger with an intimate group of fun, like-minded fitness fanatics – for free!

• Kloofendal educational walks – Why not spend your weekends learning about creepy crawlies, insect bites, flowers, trees and more. At the Kloofendal Ecological Centre you can do just that. The reserve hosts guided walks at just R90 per adult, R70 per pensioner and R50 per child. Join Jonathan Leeming on 22 November from 9am to 11am to learn more about all the creepy crawlies in the Reserve. Book for this through Quicket. • Picnic at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden – The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden on Malcolm Road, Poortview is open for picnics, bird watching and photography, walking, hiking and running. The restaurant is also open. If you wish to visit the Garden, remember to wear a mask, sanitize at the entrance and ensure social distancing. Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online on the webtickets.co.za website to limit physical contact.

• Joburg Zoo’s Festival of Lights – The City of Johannesburg and Joburg Theatre proudly present the second annual Festival of Lights, where visitors will get to enjoy the magic and beauty of enchanting, illuminated life-size animal characters that are sure to delight guests of all ages. The Joburg Zoo Festival of Lights will also offer exciting entertainment, delicious nibbles and a craft night market perfect for some festive shopping. • Antique Street Market in Greymont – Vintage lovers, collectors and antique seekers don’t miss Trouve’s first Antique Street Market from 9am on Long Road, Greymont. • Wonderland of lights at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden – Gather the family and make your way to the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden this December for their beautiful display of Christmas lights. The Wonderland of Lights will be showcasing a mesmerising festive lights display complete with Christmas carols chanting in the background from 4 to 24 December from 6pm to 10pm.
