A necessary and welcome donation from the DA

Curamus School in Rant-en-Dal recently received a donation of 25 learner desks from The Hope Dome, a Democratic Alliance Young Leaders Programme.

Closing the educational gap and helping learners to grow and develop was the idea behind a donation of 25 learner desks to the Curamus School for Autism recently.

On Thursday, 10 December, Councillors Sean Cox and Malcolm de Klerk from Tshwane joined hands with Mogale City Ward 17 councillor, Aletta van Loggerenberg to make the donation to the school.

An initiative by Sean, called The Hope Dome, is a project of the Democratic Alliance’s Young Leaders Programme and they managed to secure a sponsorship from President Hyper which helped them with the donation.

Councillors Tyrone Gray, Malcolm de Klerk and Sean Cox, and Michelle van Zyl who is the acting Head Mistress of Curamus School.

The Hope Dome will also be donating sensory cubes to the school, which are educational tools to assist in the development of fine motor skills. They have already made donations to schools in the Centurion area and this time around they are helping a school in Krugersdorp.

Aletta said she would like to thank the school for always being accommodating, adding that, “It’s awe-inspiring to see the dedication, passion and positive impact the teachers have on the children’s future; it truly is an example of unconditional love”.

Councillor Malcolm de Klerk, Leenta van Reenen, and Councillors Sean Cox and Aletta van Loggerenberg.

The school would also like to thank the community for always being supportive, especially during lockdown.

The school’s intention is to build two new classrooms and they said the desks are a necessary and welcome donation.
