WATCH: Police broadcast crime-prevention campaign while moving through the streets of Mogale City

Police from 13 different stations in the District continued their crime-prevention awareness campaign. Watch the video to see how they did it.

Communications and Social Crime Prevention officers from 13 police stations in the West Rand District continued their crime-awareness campaign in Krugersdorp.

On Tuesday, 26 January, they visited Munsieville, Krugersdorp North and the shopping malls in the area.

“The reason for the awareness campaign was to give the community tips on how to stay safe and protect themselves against crimes in their homes and places of work,” explained Captain Raymond Sebonyane, the Krugersdorp Police spokesperson.

They also reminded parents in the area to know the whereabouts of their children at all times, and to make sure their children are not left unattended.

While driving through the streets the police used their public address system to remind residents that under no circumstances should they open their doors for anyone at night, but rather to call the Krugersdorp Police Station.

Sebonyane said they engaged with the community one-on-one, and found that the residents were very pleased with the initiative. The campaign continued on Wednesday, 27 January.
