The Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has given notice of a planned water supply shutdown scheduled for Monday, 22 February in parts of the city.
The areas that may be affected are Kagiso 1 (Lewisham), Chamdor Yard and Soul City informal settlement as a tie-in connection project is conducted on existing water pipelines. The shutdown is expected to be implemented from 8am to 6pm.
A communique from the MCLM’s Water Services Division stated that, “As a contingency measure, Water Services Division will on the day place water tankers at Kagiso 1 Community Hall. Another tanker will be at Chamdor Yard at the gate and lastly, all Soul City informal settlement Jojo tanks will be filled up to capacity until the work is complete.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience that this water shutdown will cause.”
