Active Covid-19 cases in Mogale City down to 37 – no new deaths reported
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 146 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 12 440 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 12 026 people have recovered so far. There has been 377 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 37.
Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 6 889 and 4 914 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 6 641 and 4 641 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 24 250 with 794 deaths and 23 310 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 146.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 20 657 and 20 221 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 413 871 with 401 306 recoveries and 10 295 deaths. This translates to 2 270 active cases within the Province.
