Kagiso Police apprehended a suspect in connection with the brutal murder of a man from Tshepisong West.
Captain Solomon Sibiya, the Kagiso Police spokesperson explained that while out on a routine patrol on 27 March, some of their crime-prevention members received a call about a person who had died on his arrival at the hospital.
“At the hospital they found the body of a young man on a bed. He had sustained stab wounds to the left side of his neck.”
Sibiya added that according to the deceased’s friend, who witnessed the incident and accompanied him to hospital, they were at a local shebeen at around 9pm when a man entered and walked straight to the deceased.
“An argument ensued between the two, which eventually led to a physical fight. During the fight, the man drew a knife and stabbed the victim, after which he fled.”
The victim was then rushed to hospital in a private vehicle but succumbed to his injuries when they arrived at the hospital.
A murder case docket was opened with the Kagiso Police who launched a manhunt for the suspect.
The 21-year-old suspect was cornered and apprehended at his home in the early hours of Sunday, 28 March.
