This Easter long weekend was a busy one for EPR Security and as predicted, businesses and places of residence in Mogale City were once again targeted by criminals.
Releasing their crime statistics for the weekend from 2 to 5 April, Johan Krogh, EPR general manager said, “Unfortunately, the long Easter weekend did not go without any incidents.
As expected, with most residents home over this period and businesses closed, the businesses were targeted most over this period.”
Four incidents were registered on Friday, 2 April of which two were housebreakings – one in Tarlton and one in Luipaardsvlei. The other two incidents were a theft, and a damage to property case.
On Saturday, 3 April only one incident of open doors was reported but on Sunday, 4 April, another four incidents were registered with the security company. There were two robberies – one in Vlakplaas and one in Dan Pienaarville. There was also a housebreaking in Oaktree.
On Monday, 5 April, only one incident was reported. A kidnapping in Luipaardsvlei was reported with the security company.
“With additional patrols in the area we are glad to report that a decline in incidents was noted compared to other long weekends,” Krogh said.
