Dirt bike accident victim airlifted

Netcare 911 responders reacted to reports of a motorcycle accident in an isolated area off the R28 road in Luipaardsvlei on Saturday, 24 March.

“Reports indicated that an adult male sustained serious injuries when crashing his off-road motorbike into a donga,” explained Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911 media liaison, adding that, “The almost inaccessible terrain where the patient was located made it difficult for off-road vehicles to access.”

The patient was finally reached and treated on site by a Netcare 911 Emergency Care practitioner, and after being stabilised he was airlifted to hospital by helicopter ambulance for further care.
