Active Covid-19 cases in Mogale City still on the decrease
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 156 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 12 680 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 12 250 people have recovered so far. There has been 380 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 50.
Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 7 028 and 5 273 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 6 768 and 4 990 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 24 988 with 822 deaths and 24 010 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 156.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 21 147 and 20 666 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 425 080 with 411 253 recoveries and 10 692 deaths. This translates to 3 135 active cases within the Province.
