A 38-year-old man from Extension 8 in Kagiso was arrested for assaulting his own mother.
According to Captain Solomon Sibiya, the Kagiso Police spokesperson, the woman alleged she was asleep at home on Friday, 30 April when she heard her son shouting and swearing at her neighbour’s children outside.
She got up and went outside to try and stop her son, who was allegedly heavily intoxicated.
“He entered the yard and once he was inside the house, he attacked and strangled his mother.”
He allegedly took out a knife and attempted to stab her, but she managed free herself and pushed the suspect away before running to the neighbours for help.
“The matter was referred to the Kagiso Police who then arrested the suspect.”
