Increase in numbers of active Covid-19 cases in Mogale City
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 171 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mogale City stood at 12 696 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 12 255 people have recovered so far. There has been 381 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 60.
Rand West City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 7 040 and 5 291 cases respectively. Rand West City and Merafong City have seen 6 777 and 5 004 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 25 034 with 825 deaths and 24 038 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 171.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 21 203 and 20 678 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 425 692 with 411 415 recoveries and 10 711 deaths. This translates to 3 566 active cases within the Province.
