EPR Security has released their latest crime report for the period Monday 17 to Monday 24 May, which revealed 19 incidents.
Johan Krogh, General Manager said it was evident that crime was not decreasing.
“From the number of incidents reported it is obvious that crime is not declining in the area. We saw not only a spike in housebreaking attempts this past week, but also in theft and robberies,” he said.
Within eight days, seven incidents of theft and two of attempted theft were reported with the security company. There were also cases of trespassing, damage to property, robbery and attempted robbery, assault and break-ins.
Monday, 17 May:
• An incident of trespassing was reported at a residence on Onderste Street in Krugersdorp North
Tuesday, 18 May:
• An incident of damage to property was reported at a business on Nicholas Smit Avenue in Monument
Wednesday, 19 May:
• An incident of theft was reported at a residence on Donegal Road in Rangeview
• An incident of theft was reported at a business on Von Brandis Street in Luipaardsvlei
• An incident of theft was reported at a business on Sewende Street in Krugersdorp North
Thursday, 20 May:
• An incident of theft was reported at a business on Terrenure Road in Kenmare
• An incident of damage to property was reported at a business on Haynes Street in Protearif
• An incident of theft was reported at a residence on Amajuba Street in Noordheuwel
• An incident of theft was reported at a business on Human Street in Krugersdorp
• An incident of trespassing was reported at a business on a plot in Tarlton
• An incident of attempted theft was reported at a residence on Vulture Street in Rant-en-Dal
• An incident of robbery was reported at a residence on Maluti Street in Noordheuwel
Friday, 21 May:

• An incident of attempted robbery was reported at a business on Market Street in Krugersdorp
Saturday, 22 May:

Sunday, 23 May:
• An incident of attempted theft was reported at a church on Trezona Avenue in Mindalore

• An incident of damage to property was reported at a business on a plot in Vlakplaas
Johan further warned that residents should not leave their gates and doors open, even if they are home.
